dark homelands

A small plane deep in the reaches of the known multiverse, Ulgrotha is a shattered memory of what it once was. Known as the "Homelands" by its denizens, Ulgrotha exists in a shadow of a Great War that almost wiped out life on its surface. All the humans, goblins, orcs, & minotaurs who now live on it are descendants of those who fought; only the dwarves of the plane are nomads from through a planar gate. The plane is also home to powerful horrors transplanted there by ancient planeswalkers, namely the infamous Baron Sengir and his lineage of Sengir vampires. The majority of the plane is cursed; severed from mana bonds and unable to support life by the tolling of a powerful artifact known as the Apocalypse Chime.
